Global Talent Visa

What is the Global Talent visa?

The Global Talent visa, re-branded in 2020, replaced the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa. It is designed for highly skilled individuals in fields such as digital technology, science, engineering, medicine, humanities, and the arts.

Applicants must be endorsed by a recognised organisation or body in their field to demonstrate exceptional talent or potential.

This visa provides flexibility in employment, allowing individuals to work for any employer, be self-employed, or even start their own business.

What are the requirements for the Global Talent visa?

To qualify for a Global Talent visa, applicants must meet several key requirements:

  1. Endorsement: Applicants must obtain an endorsement from an approved endorsing organisation in their field, such as Tech Nation (for digital technology), the Royal Society (for science), or Arts Council England (for arts and culture).
  2. Eligibility Criteria: Depending on the field, applicants must demonstrate their exceptional skills through accomplishments like awards, publications, or a significant track record of work. The specific criteria vary by field, but all applicants must show they are recognised as leaders or emerging leaders in their area of expertise
  3. English Language: Applicants must meet the English language requirement.
  4. Financial Requirement: Applicants must show they have enough funds to support themselves during their stay in the UK.
